Orthokeratology, also known as ortho-k, uses rigid gas-permeable contact lenses that are worn overnight to mold a person’s cornea and help reduce their dependence on glasses and contact lenses throughout the day.

Ortho-k lenses can be a great option for children managing mild to moderate myopia. These lenses work by flattening the cornea, reducing the eye’s refractive power and slowing myopia progression. 

Ortho-k lenses are custom-made for each individual’s specific eye shape and prescription, helping to provide a comfortable fit and long-lasting benefits. Like all contact lenses, proper care and cleaning are crucial for maintaining good eye health and preventing infections.

Toric contact lenses correct astigmatism and are available in soft and RGP designs. Astigmatism occurs when the clear front surface of the eye, also known as the cornea or the lens inside the eye, is irregular or cylindrical in shape, making traditional contacts hard to fit.

Toric lenses contain multiple powers, one vertical and the other horizontal. The bottom of the lens is weighted, allowing the lenses to center on the eye correctly. Toric contacts require a precise fit, and our team can help during the fitting process.

Multifocal contact lenses merge multiple prescriptions to help correct vision issues such as presbyopia, hyperopia, and myopia. A bifocal lens features 2 different prescriptions in the same lens, a common solution for patients with blurry near and far vision. 

With multiple prescriptions in a single lens, you can comfortably cycle through activities such as reading or driving without switching your contacts.

Hybrid lenses feature an RGP center with softer edges made of hydrogel or silicone hydrogel materials. Hybrid lenses combine the comfort of soft contacts and the crisp vision of RGP lenses.

Hybrid lenses are also a good option for physical activity as they are larger with thin edges, making them less likely to fall out. New-generation hybrid lenses can also be a good option for patients with keratoconus.
